Radisson Hotel York

We felt that the price we paid for the room was too expensive. The room we stayed in was in need of a refurbishment, it was very dated and starting to look grubby. We were put in a smoking room which i did not ask for and so it smelt of stale smoke which was not very pleasant at all. The mattress was worn out and the duvet was paperthin which made it cold and so we had to have the heating on all night.

Location excellent but can be noisy as people return from the clubs and pubs. Hotel rooms clean as is the self service breakfast. However, hotel rooms would benefit from makeover as they look a little tired.

WHILST WE DID ENJOY OUR WEEKEND THE HOTEL ITSELF IS READY FOR A REFURB. THE DECOR IS TIRED AND VERY MIS-MATCHED AND CONSIDERING WHAT WE PAID FOR THE STAY WE GOT VERY LITTLE IN THE WAY OF LUXURIES/TREATS WHEN COMPARING THE HOTEL TO OTHERS WE'VE STAYED IN NOT JUST IN YORK. BREAKFAST WAS NICE AND STAFF OK. THE OTHER CHANGE WE DISCOVERED SINCE LAST VISITED IS YOU NOW HAVE TO PAY TO PARK YOUR CAR THIS I FEEL IS WRONG ESPECIAALY WITH WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR ROOMS. DEFINITELY GONE DOWN HILL SINCE OUR PREVIOUS VISIT.

I booked the hotel at the last minute and nearly cancelled as the reviews were not good. I was pleasantly surprised, the location was perfect, our room was good, not outstanding but clean and acceptable. We did go to the hotel restaurant but were very disappointed by the quality of the food and the service. The service was very very slow even though we ate early and the restaurant was nearly empty, I would strongly recommend you eat else where. The breakfast however was excellent, both fresh and varied. Overall we received value for money in a great location and would stay here next time we have a short break in York.

Great location, good views of the Minster, near some of the best restaurants and bars, easy walk from the train station.

It was a good clean hotel. City centre location

A convient hotel for the centre of York but very noisey at night with loud revelling outside bars on the riverside. Also, the furnishings had seen better times or were not well fitted. For example the curtain rail was fitted incorrectly so that the curtains could not be closed.

Excellent for location, staff friendly and very helpful. Meals times, very relaxed atmosphere and the food/choice was very good.

Myself and family members were very pleased with our stay at the hotel I was a bit apprehensive as I had decided to go into the trip advisor which had a lot of mixed comments.Everything was excellent though and the staff were very helpfull.I would certainly go back and stay there it was so central for the shops and train station.

Booked this as a surprise 40th for my hubby and we couldnt have wished for more. the river view was exactly that, looking directly over the river with the minster also in view. just a short walk to either historical sites or even better the great night life. everthing was within reach.hotel room a little dated but very pleasant and was spotlessly clean. would definately stay here again! the breakfast was amazing too.
