the beds were very comfortable, and the staff very attentive. the hotel ambience was very welcoming.
the breakfast was very good, but the scrambled eggs were cold. I did not complain, because everything else was fine.

The staff were very obliging. The foyer was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was ample, although we did have cold coffee! The situation of the hotel was perfect for the town centre and other attractions. The bed was very comfortable.
I thought the room was drab, dark and in need of some tlc. The wardrobe was placed behind a partition wall and had no light in that area, hence you could only really see during daylight. The shower was slow and not terribly powerful. The water was not very hot. Although we had a great view of the Castle in Edinburgh, the road was very noisy, especially in the wee hours. Having said all that, most of this can be rectified, and if I were to stay again, we would stay on the other side of the hotel, perhaps it might possibly be quieter, hence I would stay again.

Very unhappy about the fact that we had paid for the room and told us that it was not paid! He had returned by mail the invoice to be paid back in a second time!

Nice and helpful receptionists.
No ambience, the hotel has some dingy and the carpet in the corridor is damaged!.
